22nd May 2013 - Pashupatinath Darshan and Kathmandu Sightseeing

We set out for the
Kathmandu sightseeing
trip by around 9AM.  Our first stop point was the great Swoyambhunath Temple, with its rich Buddhist architecture. This was followed by a quick trip down to Jal Narayan Temple—the deity is lying in a pond on his snake-bed---resembles the mythological picture of Shri Vishnu lying on Adi Sesha in the Milky Ocean.

Then we came to the high point of today’s attraction—the holy shrine of Pashupathinath Mandir.  The MUkthinath Yatra timed our visit to sync with the opening of all four dwaras(doors) of this temple.  We had a very good dharshan Lord Pashupathi. Then the priest of the temple took a special interest in us and helped us have one more dharshan with all four dwaras opening up again—with his special blessings. We felt elated with his Divine Grace—allowing us to have a special dharshan of Him at the end of our Nepal Yatra.

The evening was spent in the lovely Dharbar Marg. Fortunate to have a glimpse of  “Kumari” —who is regarded as the living goddess.

The day was signed off with a meeting with the Management team of Muktinath Yatra P. Ltd. It was nice to offer a feedback session of our successful trip down to Nepal to the people who made this trip possible—the trio of M/s Mahadev, Suresh and Ravi.  We would be leaving Nepal with happy memories by tomorrow morning—thanks to Muktinath Yatra P. Ltd.—who organized the trip very well, with good accommodation and transportation at each leg of the tour and also helped us find our South Indian food in all parts of Nepal. Would like to conclude with a quote from Mr. Mahadev—“You come here as Guest but leave us as a Friend”. This indeed is the feeling as we are closing down our journey to Nepal.  Sure we would be missing out our friends from Muktinath Yatra P Ltd, as we step back into India by tomorrow.
