Itinerary Day by day details

DAY – 01 [AIRPORT / NEGOMBO – APPROX ½ HOURS DRIVE]
Arrival to Sri Lanka. You will be met by our Travels Representatives. Arrival at the Airport, transfer to Negombo. Evening Negombo City tour.

Negombo – A famous fishing village North of Colombo, with a Dutch built Canal running through. The canal itself is a hive of activity with fishermen traveling up and down in their gaily-painted boats. On the shores of the canal you will find many homes and many species of birds including the spectacular Kingfisher.

Catamaran trips in the sea and boat trips in the canal can be organized. From November to April, diving facilities are available in this quaint village. The streets on either side of the Hotels are dotted with Souvenir Shops, popular Restaurants etc.

Dinner & overnight stay at – Negombo

DAY – 02 [HABARANA / ANURADHAPURA / SIGIRIYA]
After Breakfast Excursion to Anuradhapura for Sight seeing, therefore transfer to Sigiriya
Evening Climb up the Sigiriya Rock

Sigiriya: Sigiriya is home to the 5th Century ‘Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress. Within it triple-moated defence the huge rock rises almost to a sheer height of 500ft. On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of frescoes of life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original color.

DAY – 03[HABARANA / DAMBULLA / KANDY]

After Breakfast transfer to Kandy, En rout visit Dambulla cave Temple & a Spice Garden

Dambulla - Dambulla is famous for the five cave Temples on a rock. The first 03 caves are better, older and larger than the other two. Some caves dates to 1st C.B.C. All the 5 cave walls and ceilings are covered with Buddhist murals and there are more than 130 Buddha statues of Gods and Kings are also found here.

Kandy - the hill capital. Venue of the annual Perahera. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of the Buddhism’s influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple’s shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha’s Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess’ hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka’s most prized possession.

DAY – 04[KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA]

After Breakfast visit Royal Botanical Gardens. Thereafter transfer to Nuwara Eliya. En rout visit Ramboda Water Falls & tea factory..

*Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya, Sixty Seven hectares of exquisite beauty and botanical treasurers containing more than 4000 species, this is haven not only for Scientists but to every nature lover as well.

Nuwara Eliya City tour - The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coldest places on the island, but is really just like an England spring day although the temperature does drop at night. All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence. Houses are like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansion

DAY – 05 [NUWARA ELIYA/BENTOTA]

Dinner & overnight stay at - Bentota

DAY – 06 [BENTOTA] Enjoy the whole day on the beach.

Bentota lies at the finishing end of "The Golden Mile" which is an hour’s drive from Colombo. Famous for it's prime beaches Bentota is today one of Sri Lanka's most sought after tourist destinations. The town of Bentota actually, sits on an estuary, where the river and the sea meet. This makes the area quite famous for water sports like windsurfing, scuba diving & snorkeling

DAY – 07 [BENTOTA/COLOMBO]
After Breakfast proceed to Colombo. Afternoon Colombo city tour & shopping

Colombo - a drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith's quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. The historic Dawatagaha Mosque and the former Eye Hospital are two buildings in Cinnamon Gardens worth looking at. Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square.

DAY – 08 [COLOMBO / AIRPORT]
After Breakfast transfer to Airport for the departure flight.
