22 April - Pokhara to Muktinath

We started from Pokhara at 6:40 a.m. to catch the flight at 8 a.m. It was a very pleasant flight and we could see snow clad mountains all around us. We reached Jomsom by around 8:45 a.m. and were welcomed by the breathtaking view of the mountains covered in snow. We were eager to reach muktinath as soon as possible and eagerly awaited for the vehicle to take us to the jeep stand. Soon we were taken to the jeep stand and we got into 2 vehicles. The road to muktinath was covered in stones and we took 2 hrs to cover a distance of 19 km.

As we reached the jeep halting point, most of the group members took bike rides to reach muktinath temple. 3 of us preferred to walk all the way up. All of us took bath in the holy 108 springs and entered the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Muktinath and Sridevi and Bhoodevi Thayar. We had a very divine darshan and all of us stood there for a very long time seeking blessings of Acharya, Thayars and Lord Muktinath. After reciting stotras and viewing perumals to our heart’s content we proceeded towards Ramanuja Kootam where many Salagrams are kept. We prayed there and came to a hermitage to have blessed lunch. Then we walked to the jeep parking stop and traveled back to Hotel Pride in Jomsom . The return journey felt shorter and all of us were very tired. We came back and rested in the hotel for a while. Later in the evening, a few of us went to look for Salagramas in Gandaki river. We found quite a few and were very pleased. After a sumptuous dinner all of us called it a day and hit the sack.
