This is the Classic tour to visit Lhasa with Everest Base camp. If you are not used to the high altitude, then this is one of the best itineraries that cover the all the Lhasa main tourist sites like Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Drepung and Sera monastery with Gyantse Kumbum and Shigatse Tashi Lhunpho monastery. Tourists can see much natural scenery like beautiful sacred lake Yamdrok tso and Karo glacier with beautiful views of Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world from Everest Base Camp.

In Lhasa Tour with Everest Base Camp, we visit beautiful Tibetan cities and towns such as Lhasa, Gyantse, Shigatse, Sakya, Rongbuk, and Kyirong. One of the major highlights of this trip is reaching the base camp of the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest, which we accomplish during our trip. During our Lhasa tour with Everest Base Camp, we visit popular Tibetan landmarks like Potala, Norbulingka Palaces, Tibet Traditional Hospital, Barkhor Bazaar, and Gyantse Dzong. This trip also includes touring quite a number of spectacular Tibetan monasteries including, but not limited to, Sera, Drepung, Phalkot, Shalu, Tashilhunpo, Sakya and Rongbuk, the world’s highest monastery with the inclusion of the popular Jokhang temple and Khumbum stupa. On the trip, we also visit the 15th century Ganden Monastery and Drayerpa caves, which are still a meditative sanctuary for Tibetan monks. The Lhasa to Kathmandu Overland Tour via Everest Base Camp also allows us to explore the mystical Yamdrok Tso Lake and conquer a few high passes such as the Lalung La, Karo La, Khamba La, and Gyatso La. The major highlights of this trip are reaching the base camp of Mt. Everest in addition to catching a glimpse of the marvelous Rongbuk Glacier, and enjoying the spectacular views of Shishapangma and Cho Oyu peaks.

Itinerary Day by day details

Day-1: Arrive in Lhasa by flight or train
Lhasa airport/Train station picking up, have a good rest to acclimatize the high altitude in the afternoon. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day-2: Lhasa Sightseeing: Potala Palace /Jokhang Temple
Today you will visit Potola Palace, Jokhang Temple,bustling bazaar along the Barkhor Street. Today, you will enjoy 1-2 hours feature service of meditation, including teaching and learning, under the guidance of a knowledgeable Lama in Jokhang Temple. We guide your visit to Potala Palace, no matter how busy the entrance ticket purchasing is.
Overnight at Lhasa

Day-3: Lhasa- Yamdrotso lake-Gyangtse-Shigatse (440km, 6hours driving, asphalt road in good condition, 3900m)
Morning time around 08:00am depart from Lhasa pass Gangbala Mt. which is over than 5000m, then to Yamdrotso lake which is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet (another 2 is Namtso lake and Manasarova), then to Gyangtse, visit Gyangtse Kumbum, far view of Zongshan ruins. Then go to Shigatse. Overnight at Shigatse.

Day-4: Shigatse/ Lhatse/ Tinggri (Shegar) ( 240km, 4 hours driving, asphalt road in good condition , 4050m)
Morning time to visit Tashilumpo Monastery which was Built in1447 , spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas . After lunch driving along with Friendship way pass Lhatse to Tinggri. On the way you will pass the checking point with your TTB permit, travel permit and passport. Then arrive at Tinggri by the entrance of Everest Base Camp. Overnight at Tinggri

Day-5: Tinggri/ Rongbu Monastery/ Evrest Base Camp/ Rongbu ( 180km, 8hours drving, most asphalt road, 4980m)
Early in the morning 07:00am driving from Tinggri to E.B.C with good road condition, most prat of road was repaired before 2008. During this route,you can have a glimpse of 4 mountains which is 8000m high or more, such as Mt. Lhotse(8516m),Mt. Everest(8848m),Mt. Qowowuyag(8201m),Mt Makalu(8463m). Then arrive at Rongbu Monastery. It is cold from here E.B.C. At Rongphu Monastery view to Mt. Everest it is fabulous and splendid. After walking a few minutes to arrive the place get on the animal carriage then use half of an hour arrive at Everest Base camp (Or you also can do trekking to Everest Base Camp around 1.5-2 hours one way. It is interesting and makes warm, but hard to breath). Hiking up to the top of the photo point take pictures for the splendid Mt. Everest. Then back to Rongpu. Overnight at Rongbu.

Day-6: Rongbu/ Old Tinggri/ Zhangmu (240km, 10 hours, Rough road around mountains, 3750-2300m)
Morning time take photos of the sunrise for Mt. Everest. Then go down of mountains to Zhangmu. The road from Old Tinggri to Zhangmu is repairing you just can going from 08:00pm. Arrive at Zhangmu around 12:00pm. Next morning cross the Friend-ship Bridge cross the border by yourselves.

Day-7: Zhangmu-Border-Kathmandu
Our Guide will drop you off at next morning at the border bridge. End the tour at China-Nepal Border. Then Nepal tour begins.
